Ingredients – Beef Mince

2 Tbsp Oil 
500 g Lean beef mince
1 medium Onion 
1 handful Mixed peppers, chopped
½ cup Tomato purée 
2 Tbsp Seven Colours Grill Seasoning™️

Method – Beef Mince

Heat oil in a pan. Brown the mince and set aside. Add splash of oil to the same pan, add onion and cook until translucent. Add peppers and purée and stir. Add Seven Colours Grill Seasoning™️. Add browned Mince and stir well. Allow to simmer for few minutes before serving.

Ingredients – Vetkoek

3 cups Flour
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 pinch Salt
2 Tbsp Margarine
½ packet Instant yeast
1 ½ cups Lukewarm water
Cling Wrap
1 L Oil

Method – Vetkoek

Mix flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Rub in margarine with your fingertips. Add yeast and mix. Add lukewarm water and form a soft dough. Add a little more water if necessary. Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Cover with Cling Wrap for 10 minutes. Knock down dough and roll it into a tube shape. Cut into equal sizes. Roll each piece into a ball, place on a greased tray and allow to rise. Heat oil in a large pot and fry the dough until golden on each side. Let it colour on the one side first before turning. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
TIP: Make a slot inside each cake with a knife and spoon the savoury mince inside it to serve.
